Union House was built in 1965 on Jumeirah Street in Dubai, originally a building designated for the meetings of the Ruler of Dubai and the reception of his guests.
On 2 December 1971, the rulers of the Emirates gathered in this building to sign the Union Document, under which the United Arab Emirates was established, and the building also witnessed the signing of the Treaty of Friendship with the United Kingdom.
In the seventies Union House was restored while preserving its original circular shape, with some improvements and structural restorations, and to this day it still amazes guests with the importance of the history it embraces the moment they step inside. The curved walls of the circular-shaped structure rise to recall the vision, design and capacity of the founding fathers.
Today this building is a building of national importance, as part of it has been prepared as a museum of the Union that opened in 2016, allowing its visitors to feel the physical expression of the place at the time it relives the historical moment in which the Union was formed, as well as the fact that it still hosts some government activities given its historical, social and political importance.
