The Kuwait Towers are located on the shore of the Arabian Gulf in the east of Kuwait City, opposite Dasman Palace, over an area of 38,000 square meters. They stand on an artificial land spit shared only by a water amusement park.
The Kuwait Towers are three towers, harmonious in form and varying in height. They were designed by the Danish architect Malene Bjørn and the Swedish architect Sune Lindström, and were built by the Yugoslav company Energoprojekt.
- The largest (main) tower rises to a height of 187 meters and has a diameter of 20 meters at ground level, with two spheres. The first sits in its middle at a height of 82 meters above sea level; the lower part of the sphere is a water reservoir with a capacity of 4,500 cubic meters, while the upper part contains restaurants, cafés, a distinctive reception hall and a private hall. The second sphere is located above the first and is smaller in size, at a height of 123 meters; it makes a complete rotation every half hour, allowing visitors to enjoy a stunning panoramic view over Kuwait City.
- The middle tower rises to a height of 147 meters and has a diameter of 18 meters at ground level; it is a water reservoir with a storage capacity similar to the main tower, 4,500 cubic meters.
- The third tower (the smallest tower) rises to a height of 113 meters and has a diameter of 12 meters at ground level; it in turn is dedicated to supplying electricity to the first and second towers and the surrounding area.
