This forum was launched in 2013 to serve as an Arab space bringing together officials and decision-makers in the Arab ministries concerned with education, research, industry, agriculture, planning and the economy, along with training and research institutions, and productive and service companies and institutions in the Arab countries, within an official, scientific and economic gathering that provides a suitable climate for convergence, cooperation and integration, and enables the creation of appropriate mechanisms to link the postgraduate programmes and research projects carried out in Arab universities and research centres with the needs of Arab societies and their development plans. The forum seeks to bring together researchers and specialists, and Arab institutions and companies, with their counterparts at the regional and international levels, and to attract expatriate Arab scientists in order to enable them to contribute to transferring and localising advanced technologies in the Arab countries, and to strengthening and activating the partnership between the three main blocs concerned with scientific research and its outputs (universities – research centres – production and services sectors). In addition to its main themes, it includes a number of events and activities in the fields of science and scientific research related to development and to the priorities of scientific research in the Arab countries, such as health, nutrition, renewable energy, water, climate and others... which are carried out in the form of meetings, seminars, workshops, discussion panels, scientific lectures, and exhibitions of books, tools and educational supplies.
