Despite the maturity of the experiences of creative Arab women and their active participation in shaping the past and future of Arab culture, policies for empowering creative women and recognizing the significant role they play in public affairs require a soft revolution aimed at shaking up traditional intellectual structures and bringing about change in prevailing practices, and in the stereotypical view of women and their creative capacities. As part of the Organization's efforts to develop sustainable competitive advantages in Arab culture and to value the role of women in creative fields, the project to support and nurture creative women in the Arab States seeks to overcome the challenges that hinder women's active participation in building peaceful, inclusive and pluralistic Arab societies, and that limit their creative practices, their cultural presence and their participation in achieving development goals.
