Each year, the Arab countries witness numerous highly important archaeological discoveries relating to various historical periods at many sites, monuments, laboratories and research centres, whether as part of national research programmes or in cooperation with foreign universities. However, these discoveries remain obscure, and their dissemination is confined to academic circles among researchers and specialists alone. In some cases, their findings are published in journals and scholarly works in the Arab countries or abroad, and thus they remain unknown to the media, cultural guides, those responsible for educational programmes and civil society active in the field of heritage, despite their importance and the contributions they can make to the various civilisations that have succeeded one another in the Arab region and their contributions to human civilisation, as well as very important corrections to many hypotheses put forward concerning the history of the Arab countries.

This forum aims to provide an opportunity for Arab archaeologists to make their discoveries known and to present them to their colleagues from the rest of the Arab countries and to those interested in the field of antiquities in general, in order to exchange information, experiences, knowledge and expertise and to build partnerships between Arab research centres and universities and their foreign counterparts. This forum may include photo exhibitions, publications, scholarly presentations, slide shows, video clips and more, accompanied by extensive media coverage to further promote these discoveries.
