ACATAP The Arab Centre for Arabization, Translation, Authorship and Publication has issued a book entitled "Artificial Intelligence Brings About a Qualitative Transformation in Enriching Higher Education". While artificial intelligence tools are growing at an accelerating pace and are increasingly in demand, a comprehensive understanding of how to integrate these tools effectively and safely remains limited, and their profound long-term effects have not yet been sufficiently explored; this poses latent risks that hinder the effective and sustainable application of artificial intelligence in higher education institutions, as digital dependency may gradually undermine the development of the learner's essential human skills.
From this standpoint, the great importance of this book becomes evident—a book the Centre sought to translate and publish in line with its strategic mission and its central objectives of enriching the Arab academic field with all that is modern and useful. This book was translated by Professor Dr. Hussein Aziz Saleh, and edited and reviewed by Professor Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Othman.
The book brings together a synthesis of the ideas and observations of a select group of international researchers and experts, which affirm that the optimal use of artificial intelligence in the context of education requires live field experience in interacting with students, and deep pedagogical knowledge of how to employ technology in designing flexible curricula, managing smart assessments, and providing academic support. At the same time, the book presents the real sources of concern by discussing issues of data privacy, algorithmic bias, threats to academic integrity, and the urgent need to design sustainable training programmes for faculty members, while emphasising the human and ethical bonds that constitute the true essence of the educational process.
The Centre hopes that both teacher and student in our Arab world will find in this book a guiding aid and a supportive mentor in the culture of higher education, so as to elevate the quality of outcomes and qualify graduates for excellence and leadership in the global labour market.
