ALECSO and UNESCO hold Regional Forum in Nouakchott on “Preserving Crafts-related Knowledge and Know-how”

The Diplomatic Academy in Nouakchott hosted, on April 8-10, 2025, the regional meeting on “Preserving crafts-related knowledge and know-how”, organized by ALECSO and the UNESCO office in Rabat.
The meeting addressed the ways and means of protecting endangered crafts in the Maghreb countries. It also featured presentations by crafts workers.
The opening session was attended by the Mauritanian Minister of Vocational Training, Traditional Industry and Crafts, the Minister of Culture, Arts, and Relations with the Parliament, the Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Rabat, and the Secretary-General of the Mauritanian National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science.
ALECSO was represented at the meeting by Mr. Abdelhadi Ghemari, Project Coordinator at the Culture Department.
