His Excellency Professor Dr. Mohamed Ould Omar, Director General of the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), met with His Excellency Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansoua, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on Wednesday, August 2, 2026, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Cairo, where the two sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of education, culture and science, and support joint Arab action. The meeting discussed the prospects for developing the partnership between ALECSO and Egyptian institutions, and benefiting from Egyptian expertise and competencies in Implementing Arab programs and projects, in addition to examining a proposal to establish a training center affiliated with ALECSO in Egypt, which would contribute to building capabilities and developing the skills of Arab cadres. The two sides also discussed ways to support Arab students and researchers, and expand opportunities for scholarships, training and scientific exchange, in a way that enhances academic and research cooperation between Arab institutions. His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research stressed Egypt’s keenness to continue supporting ALECSO and enhancing cooperation with it, praising its role in serving issues of education, culture and science in the Arab world. For his part, His Excellency the Director General of ALECSO expressed He expressed his appreciation for the pivotal role played by the Arab Republic of Egypt in supporting the process of joint Arab action, stressing the organization’s keenness to expand areas of cooperation with Egyptian institutions and benefit from their scientific, cultural and academic expertise. The two sides agreed to continue coordination and consultation to activate the proposed areas of cooperation, in a way that serves the goals of cognitive, scientific and cultural development in the Arab world.
