As part of its efforts to support digital transformation and innovation in the field of education, and to enhance the availability of specialised knowledge in the Arabic language, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) announces the release of the Arabic version of the book »Artificial Intelligence and Education in the Global South: A Systemic Perspective«.

This publication comes amid the rapid transformations witnessed by the education sector in light of the growing development of artificial intelligence technologies, and the new opportunities they create to rethink methods of teaching and learning, develop educational institutions, and build the capacities and skills needed to keep pace with the requirements of the future.

The book offers a systemic perspective on the relationship between artificial intelligence and education systems in the countries of the Global South, reviewing a range of issues related to the use of these technologies in education, including the opportunities and challenges, and the importance of creating educational environments and policies capable of benefiting from the potential of artificial intelligence in a responsible and effective manner.

The book also highlights the importance of viewing artificial intelligence not merely as a technological tool, but as a factor that can contribute to bringing about broader transformations in education systems, which calls for integrated approaches that combine technology, policies, institutions and educational practices.

The Arabic version was produced in cooperation with the Foundation (CONNECTED MENA), contributing to making this work available to readers, researchers and decision-makers in Arabic, and to enhancing the circulation of specialised knowledge in the fields of artificial intelligence and education in the Arab region.
