ALECSO and the ALECSO Chair for International Commercial Arbitration organize 5th Euro-Mediterranean Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) organized, jointly with the ALECSO Chair for International Commercial Arbitration at the University of Tunis El Manar, the 5th edition of the Euro-Mediterranean Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility under the theme: “Social and Environmental Responsibility of Social and Solidarity Economy Institutions: Judicial Professions and Arbitration Centers as a Model.” The Forum was held in Hammamet, Tunisia, on February 13, 2026.

ALECSO was represented by Mr. Amine Dahmani, Head of the National Commissions Section at the Secretariat of the Executive Board and General Conference. In his opening remarks, he emphasized that ALECSO’s participation in the Forum reflects its commitment to supporting scientific research, strengthening academic partnerships, and consolidating its role as an Arab center of expertise in education, culture, and science.  He commended ALECSO’s strategic partnership with the University of Tunis El-Manar, and highlighted the importance of the academic Chairs affiliated with ALECSO, particularly the Chair for International Commercial Arbitration, in knowledge production and capacity-building. He also underlined the relevance of the Forum’s theme, focusing on corporate social and environmental responsibility and the role of arbitration and social and solidarity economy in achieving sustainable development.  He further noted that the Forum serves as a platform for sharing expertise and formulating practical recommendations to support decision-making and enhance Arab and international cooperation.

The Forum sought to explore the development of arbitration mechanisms and promote the integration of social and environmental responsibility principles within judicial professions and arbitration centers, in a manner that supports social and solidarity economy and contributes to sustainable development.

The program featured scientific sessions and a roundtable discussion involving experts from Tunisia, France, and Morocco. Discussions addressed the role of arbitration centers in tackling emerging challenges related to corporate social responsibility, particularly environmental damage, the duty of vigilance, youth engagement, gender parity, and good governance.
