Within the framework of the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO)’s keenness to strengthen bridges of scientific communication between Arab competencies at home and abroad, the organization’s Department of Science and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the University of Nouakchott and the Mauritanian National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, organized the “Scientific Visitor and Arab Immigrant Minds” program during the period from October 28 to 30, 2025. An elite group of professors and Arab immigrant minds from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan participated in the program. The Republic of Tunisia, the State of Palestine, the State of Libya, the United Arab Emirates, and the Kingdom of Spain implemented a group of training courses and specialized scientific lectures in the university’s various colleges, from which professors, researchers, and postgraduate students benefited. The program activities were opened with an introductory meeting that brought together the President of the University, His Excellency Professor Dr. Ali Al-Bukhari, his deputies, and the deans of the colleges with the visiting professors, where the Vice President of the University, Dr. Mohamed Al-Amine Ould Ibrahim, praised ALECSO’s continued support for scientific research in Mauritania. The program's activities varied between training workshops on writing scientific research, university classifications, and laboratory waste management, and specialized lectures in applied sciences, engineering, and modern technologies, in addition to interactive sessions that dealt with renewable energies, applications of artificial intelligence, and joint Arab research cooperation. At the closing ceremony, the President of the University of Nouakchott expressed his appreciation to ALECSO for this qualitative program, while Professor Dr. Mohamed Sanad Abu Darwish, Director of the Organization’s Department of Science and Scientific Research, delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ould Omar, Director General of the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization, and his pride in implementing the Scientific Visitor and Migrant Arab Minds Program, which is considered the first program of its kind at the Arab level and which is led by ALECSO in implementation of the goals and policies of the Arab Strategy for Scientific and Technological Research. And innovation, which the twenty-eighth Arab Summit entrusted ALECSO with the task of following up on its implementation to enhance scientific cooperation between Arab researchers and benefit from their scientific potential, in addition to benefiting from creative Arab minds, especially immigrant ones, to share knowledge, transfer experiences and exchange them in order to contribute to achieving and supporting development and innovation in the homeland.
