The 27th session of the Conference on Archaeology and Cultural Heritage in the Arab World kicked off on October 28, 2025 in Doha, Qatar. The event is organized by ALECSO in collaboration with Qatar Museums, under the theme : “Sustainability of Cultural Heritage: Challenges and Future Strategies.”
The opening ceremony was attended by H.E. Ms. Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, Qatari Minister of Education and Higher Education and Chairperson of the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science; H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO; Mr. Mohammed Saad Al Rumaihi, CEO of Qatar Museums; and Dr. Fatima Al-Sulaiti, Director of International Cooperation and Government Affairs at Qatar Museums.
The State of Qatar chaired this edition of the Conference, succeeding the Kingdom of Morocco which hosted the 26th edition. The Conference will continue until October 30, 2025.
