In celebration of the Arabic manuscript heritage and its enduring civilizational value, the Institute of Arabic Manuscripts, a subsidiary institution of ALECSO, organizes the 13^th edition of Arabic Manuscript Day (2025). The event will be graciously hosted by the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) on October 5, 2025, under the theme: "The Arabic Manuscript: The Life of a Nation and a Wellspring of Civilization."

Since its inception by resolution of the Conference of Arab Culture Ministers in 2016, the Arabic Manuscript Day has served as a renewed opportunity to highlight the significant role of manuscripts in preserving the identity of the Arab nation and safeguarding its cultural memory.

The event will be held under the generous patronage of HRHs Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Board of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, and H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, and at the kind invitation of HRH Princess Maha bint Mohammed Al-Faisal, Secretary-General of the Center.

The celebration will include:

• A signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies and the Institute of Arabic Manuscripts.
• A documentary film about the Arab manuscript.
• Several exhibitions, including:
  • An exhibition on the missions of the Institute of Arabic Manuscripts (1947–2025)
  • A photo exhibition of the tools used in manuscript imaging (1947–2025)
  • An exhibition of the Institute’s scientific publications.
• A guided tour of the King Faisal Center’s museums.

It is also worth noting that this year’s celebration of the Arabic Manuscript Day began on April 4, 2025 across 35 institutions in 14 countries concerned with Arabic manuscripts. Numerous events and activities have been organized, and a summary of these will be presented electronically on display screens during the main celebration.
