H.E. Mr. Zouhir Ballalou, Algeria’s Minister of Culture and Arts, received, on June 23, 2025 at the Ministry’s headquarters, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO,  along with his accompanying delegation.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the Director-General and the accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay in Algeria. He commended the significant role of ALECSO in its areas of competence, through the various activities implemented in Arab countries, as well as its openness to its global environment. The Minister expressed the Ministry’s readiness to host the activities proposed by ALECSO’s Department of Culture. These activities, he added, will be embedded into the Ministry’s agenda.

For his part, the Director-General thanked the Minister for providing this opportunity to discuss issues and topics of shared interest, and affirmed ALECSO’s support for all the Ministry’s initiatives and proposals, including training courses, scientific workshops, and cultural events.

The Director-General extended an official invitation to the Minister to organize the “Algeria Cultural Day” at ALECSO’s headquarters in Tunis. He also called on the Ministry to continue preparing the nomination files of Algeria’s intangible cultural heritage properties, as part of collaborative efforts with ALECSO. 

Both parties agreed to pursue coordination to set dates for the proposed activities.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of commemorative shields.
