H.E. Mr. Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid, Algerian Minister of Vocational Training and Education, received, on June 22, 2025 at the Ministry’s headquarters, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, along with the accompanying delegation.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the Director-General and his accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay in Algeria. He gave a brief overview of the Ministry’s mission and programs, and the role it plays in advancing vocational training—a sector to which Algeria attaches great importance and provides the necessary resources to make it a key pillar of comprehensive development.

The Minister highlighted the Ministry’s new ambitious vision, which involves high-quality initiatives aimed at supporting and developing the TVET sector. He indicated that the Ministry will launch the “Vocational Training Olympiad” later this year, in addition to the formulation of new policies to boost this vital sector, in line with a comprehensive strategic vision that the Ministry is currently working on.

The Minister presented a project on professional policies in Arab countries, and called on ALECSO to contribute to this initiative. He also expressed the Ministry’s readiness to receive trainees from countries with specific vocational needs at Algeria’s training institutes and centers.

For his part, the Director-General of ALECSO expressed his thanks to the Minister for providing the opportunity of this meeting, which he described as a starting point for a strong and fruitful cooperation between ALECSO and the Ministry in support of the TVET sector. ALECSO, he noted, places special attention to this sector, recalling that three ministerial conferences for Arab ministers and officials in charge of the TVET sector have already been organized, with preparations underway for the fourth edition in 2025.

The Director-General also affirmed ALECSO’s readiness to participate in the upcoming “Vocational Training Olympiad” and to make available its expertise in the field of technical and vocational training.

At the end of the meeting, the Director-General awarded the ALECSO Honorary Shield to the Algerian Minister in appreciation of his support and collaboration.
