The Institute of Arabic Manuscripts participated in the activities of the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, in response to a kind invitation from the  General Secretariat of the League of Arab States - Social Affairs Sector,  (Department of Culture and Dialogue of Civilizations). This day is celebrated annually on May 21, and is an occasion approved by UNESCO in 2001 to emphasize the importance of cultural diversity in achieving development and world peace. During the event, the General Secretariat organized a meeting to follow up on the implementation of the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan in the field of culture, where discussions focused To spread and promote the culture of peace and non-violence, protect cultural and natural heritage, and enhance international cooperation in the fields of science, technology and innovation. Representatives of member states and relevant Arab and international organizations participated in the meeting. On the sidelines of the event, an exhibition was held that highlights global cultural diversity, where the cultures of non-Arab countries such as Japan, China, India and some African countries were introduced, which reflects the importance of openness and cultural exchange between peoples. Dr. Ahmed Al-Ibrahim, Secretary of Educational Affairs at the Institute, participated in the meeting.
