Department Director

Dr. Hamid Bin Saif Al-Noufali holds a PhD in Law, with a minor specialization in Administration and Development in 2011. He began his professional career in the field of teaching, before moving to work in educational administration, where he progressed through a number of administrative positions until he assumed the position of Director of the Culture Department Sector at the Omani National Commission for Education, Culture and Science. He has made numerous contributions in the cultural, educational and scientific fields, and has held and participated in a number of committees and bodies, most notably representing the Sultanate of Oman in the Gulf Committee for the Memory of the World during the period 2018–2023, membership of the committee supervising the Sultanate of Oman's participation in the Memory of the World Register programme during the period 2012–2023, in addition to membership of the steering council of the UNESCO Chair in Aflaj Studies (Archaeohydrology) at the University of Nizwa during the period 2021–2023, membership of the board of directors of the Omani Society for Writers and Literati during the period 2021–2024, as well as his membership of the advisory board of the Syrian Journal of Library Science, an international peer-reviewed scientific journal. He also contributed to conducting a number of educational workshops for the benefit of school students, and training courses for the benefit of teachers, and he has a number of publications and releases, in addition to his participation in reviewing and evaluating a number of scientific theses for bachelor's and master's students, and evaluating a number of scientific questionnaires. He has also participated in many cultural events and activities inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman, reflecting his continuous interest in the educational, cultural and scientific fields.
