The Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science participated in the Arab Championship for Mental Arithmetic and Memory, which was held in the Republic of Iraq on February 22, 2025. The tournament activities took place under the patronage of the Iraqi Prime Minister, Engineer Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, and in cooperation with the Iraqi National Committee for Education, Culture and Science, the ALECSO Chair in the Service of Childhood, and the Creativity Development Center in Iraq. This event was supervised by His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim Namis Al-Jubouri, Minister of Education of the Republic of Iraq, Chairman of the Iraqi National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, and in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Majeed Kamel Abdullah, Secretary-General of the Iraqi National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, along with the diplomatic corps accredited to the Republic of Iraq, and a number of Arab experts, professors and students. The Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science was represented by Professor Dr. Murad Mahmoudi, Secretary of the Executive Council and the General Conference, Professor Dr. Rami Iskandar, Director of the Education Department, and the writer Ihab Al-Qastawi, Director of the ALECSO Chair in Childhood Service. This tournament was attended by more than (1,500) participants, with participation from ten (10) Arab countries, namely the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Republic of Sudan, the Republic of Iraq, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Palestine, the State of Kuwait, the Lebanese Republic, the State of Libya, and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The number of participants in the championship competitions reached (300) participants from various Arab countries, and the results resulted in the Republic of Iraq winning first place, the Republic of Sudan winning second place, and the State of Libya winning third place. During this tournament, it was also agreed to launch the Arab Network for Mental Arithmetic, Memory, and the Development of Creativity and Innovation “under the supervision of the ALECSO Chair in the Service of Childhood” and to continue discovering, supporting and promoting talents and geniuses in the Arab countries.
