His Excellency Professor Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), received today, Monday 17 August 2026, at the Organization's headquarters, Her Excellency Dr. Arwa Hashim Abdul Hassan, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Tunisia.

The meeting was an opportunity to review the well-established cooperation relations between the Organization and the Republic of Iraq in the fields of education, culture and science, in light of the role played by ALECSO in supporting joint Arab action and enhancing integration among the Arab States in its areas of competence.

The two parties affirmed the importance of the role played by the Organization in supporting specialized Arab institutions, exchanging expertise and knowledge, and providing further opportunities for cooperation and communication with the relevant Iraqi bodies.

This visit comes within the context of the ongoing communication between ALECSO and the diplomatic missions of the Arab States in the Republic of Tunisia, in a manner that contributes to strengthening the bridges of cooperation and coordination and supporting joint Arab action.
