His Excellency Professor Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), on his own behalf and on behalf of the Organization's family, extends his most sincere condolences and heartfelt feelings of sympathy to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, its leadership, government, and people, following the painful fire that broke out at the orphanage in the Al-Mohammadia district of the capital Algiers, and resulted in a number of victims and injuries.

As ALECSO shares with the brotherly Algerian people their sorrows in this grave calamity, it prays to God Almighty to envelop the victims in His vast mercy and forgiveness, to admit them into His spacious gardens, to grant the injured a speedy recovery, to inspire their families with beautiful patience and solace, and to protect Algeria and its people from all harm and evil.
