Within the Tenth Youth Makers Camp under the Belt and Road Initiative and the Teachers' Workshop - 2026

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) informs all those interested in participating in the (China - Arab World) camp that, based on the updates received from the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), the body organizing the camp in cooperation with ALECSO and a number of international partners, the date of the camp has been postponed to the period from 6 to 12 September 2026, and the deadline for submitting nominations has been extended to 31 July 2026.

The China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), in cooperation with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and a number of international partners, invites talented and outstanding secondary-school students, aged between 16 and 18 years, to apply to participate in the (China - Arab World) camp, which is organized within the Tenth Youth Makers Camp under the Belt and Road Initiative and the Teachers' Workshop, during the period 6-12 September 2026 in the city of Yinchuan, in the Ningxia region, in the People's Republic of China.

The organization of this camp comes within the framework of joint efforts aimed at strengthening scientific and technological cooperation between the Arab States and the People's Republic of China, enabling talented and outstanding Arab youth to engage in an international environment that stimulates creativity and innovation, to acquire advanced scientific and technological knowledge and expertise, and to enhance cultural dialogue and build bridges of communication and understanding among young people.

The program focuses on a number of priority themes, most notably green innovation, sustainable development, renewable energy, combating desertification, smart agriculture, and science, technology and innovation, through scientific and applied activities, field visits to Chinese scientific institutions, research centres and pioneering projects, in addition to programs for cultural exchange and communication among young people.

Target group

• Talented and outstanding secondary-school students 16-18 years.
• Teams composed of (3-5) students, accompanied by (1-2) teachers or supervisors.
• Proficiency in the English language is required

Note: ALECSO has received a number of inquiries regarding the possibility of individual participation by students and teachers. In this regard, ALECSO has contacted the organizing body to explore the possibility of accepting this type of nomination within the (China - Arab World) camp. All those interested will be informed of any developments as soon as the official response is received from the organizing body.

Participation costs

The Chinese organizing body covers the participation fees, accommodation, subsistence, and internal transportation of the participating teams throughout the camp period, while each participant bears the cost of the international round-trip travel ticket to and from the People's Republic of China.
