H.E. Mr. Khalaf Al-Sayfaw, Minister of Technical and Vocational Education of the State of Libya, received, on June 29, 2026 at the Ministry’s headquarters, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen joint Arab action and advance the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) system in the State of Libya.

The meeting, attended by Dr. Al-Ferjani Ahmed, Undersecretary of the Ministry, focused on the challenges facing the TVET sector, and explored ways to enhance Arab and international cooperation to support its development. Discussions  emphasized the importance of strengthening this vital sector as a key driver of economic and social development, while ensuring that it remains responsive to labor market needs and the demands of modern technological transformation.

At the outset of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the Director-General and his accompanying delegation, expressing his appreciation for their visit to Libya and the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education. He also commended ALECSO’s efforts to promote joint Arab action and support the advancement of education and training systems across the Arab world.

The Minister underscored the Ministry’s commitment to pursuing the implementation of joint programmes and projects with ALECSO, and building on the achievements made in recent years  to advance the strategic objectives of developing the TVET system.

For his part, Dr. Al-Ferjani Ahmed reviewed the Ministry's key achievements in digital transformation. He highlighted the development of the Digital Platform for Technical Education and Vocational Training, an integrated digital hub designed to support training across a wide range of professions and future-oriented specializations while fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.

During the meeting, Dr. Mohamed Sanad Abu Darwish, Director of Science and Scientific Research at ALECSO, presented the Organization's major achievements and initiatives in support of the TVET sector. He also outlined ALECSO's future plans to further strengthen the sector in Libya through the provision of technical assistance and specialized expertise at both the national and Arab levels.

At the conclusion of the meeting, ALECSO presented a heritage gift to the Libyan Minister of Technical and Vocational Education, in recognition of his efforts to advance technical and vocational education at the national, regional, and international levels, while underscoring the strong partnership and longstanding cooperation between the two sides.
