On the sidelines of the Arab Forum on Cultural and Creative Industries, held in Rabat, Morocco, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, met, on May 18, 2026, with H.E. Mr. Sayyid Said bin Sultan Al-Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture of the Sultanate of Oman.

The meeting discussed ways to strengthen cultural cooperation between ALECSO and the Omani Ministry of Culture. It also explored prospects for developing joint initiatives in the fields of cultural and creative industries, safeguarding Arab cultural heritage, and supporting projects dedicated to promoting Arab cultural identity and enhancing its presence at both regional and international levels.

During the meeting, Mr. Al-Busaidi expressed his deep thanks and gratitude to the Director-General for his kind initiative in awarding the “Arab Cultural Excellence Medal” to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, in recognition of His Majesty’s valuable contributions to supporting Arab culture and strengthening its presence regionally and internationally. He further affirmed Oman’s pride in receiving this distinguished honor, and commended ALECSO’s role in advancing joint Arab cultural action and supporting initiatives aimed at preserving Arab cultural identity while fostering creativity and cooperation among Arab countries.
