As part of the activities of the "Cultural and Creative Industries Forum" held in the Kingdom of Morocco, His Excellency Professor Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), together with His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication in the Kingdom of Morocco, on Monday 18 May 2026, honoured the head of the Artists' Syndicate in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr. Ashraf Zaki, in appreciation of his distinguished artistic and cultural career, and his prominent contributions to supporting the Arab artistic movement and enhancing the standing of art and culture in the service of the causes of development and Arab identity.

For his part, His Excellency the Director-General of ALECSO affirmed, on this occasion, that the Arab artist represents a fundamental pillar in building cultural awareness and entrenching the values of creativity, openness and dialogue, praising the historic role played by the Egyptian artistic scene in enriching the Arab cultural landscape and highlighting Arab creative energies in international forums.

For his part, the head of the Artists' Syndicate expressed his deep thanks and gratitude for this honour, considering it an appreciation of Arab art and of the noble cultural message carried by Arab artists, and affirming his keenness to continue supporting joint Arab cultural initiatives and strengthening cooperation with (ALECSO) in the various cultural and artistic fields.

The honouring ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies the ministers, officials, and Arab cultural and artistic figures participating in the forum.
