Under the joint supervision of Their Excellencies the Minister of Education Dr. Adel Abdulmajeed Alawi Al-Abadi and the Minister of Culture His Excellency Professor Muti Ahmed Qasim Damaj, in the Republic of Yemen, and in the presence of Her Excellency Dr. Hafiza Nasser Al-Sheikh, Secretary-General of the Yemeni National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (Culture Department) concluded on Thursday 07 May 2026 in the city of Aden the first workshop within the programme for strengthening education in culture and the arts, as part of a renewed vision based on respect for cultural diversity and benefiting from the process of social inclusion in the school environment.

Thirty participants from the education and culture sectors in the Republic of Yemen benefited from this workshop, during which they received knowledge about the ways and mechanisms of effectively integrating education in culture and the arts into educational policies and programmes, developing learners' knowledge-production skills, helping them acquire the values of dialogue and difference, and developing their aesthetic and critical sense within a comprehensive educational, cultural and artistic approach that uses the arts as a means of developing the human being intellectually, emotionally and behaviourally. The workshop's proceedings focused on strengthening the role of education in culture and the arts in narrowing the social and economic gap in the field of education and acquiring future skills.
