H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, received, on May 7, 2026, H.E. Mr. Isidro Antonio González Afonso, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Tunisia, accompanied by Mr. Rafael Rodríguez-Ponga Albalá, Cultural Counselor at the Embassy.

The meeting addressed ways to strengthen cooperation between ALECSO and the Kingdom of Spain in the fields of education, culture, and science. It also explored prospects for developing cultural and academic partnerships and exchanging expertise in a manner that contributes to promoting Arab-Spanish civilizational dialogue and cultural rapprochement.

The Director-General reaffirmed ALECSO’s commitment to openness toward leading international experiences as well as to expanding cooperation with relevant Spanish institutions and bodies, in support of ALECSO’s goals and programs aimed at advancing joint Arab action.

For his part, the Spanish Ambassador commended ALECSO’s role in serving Arab culture and promoting intellectual and scientific cooperation. He affirmed his country’s readiness to further support areas of cooperation and develop joint initiatives with the Organization.
