His Excellency the Director-General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), Professor Mohamed Ould Amar, received on Thursday, 2 April 2026, at the Organization's headquarters, His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Ben Youssef, Director-General of the African Arab Cultural Institute (ICAA), based in Bamako, within the framework of strengthening the bridges of cultural and educational cooperation between the two institutions.

During this meeting, prospects for developing an effective institutional partnership were discussed, based on unifying efforts and integrating initiatives in the fields of education, culture and science, in a way that serves shared priorities and enhances the presence of the Arab-African dimension in future programmes and projects.

The importance of openness to various stakeholders, including governmental institutions and regional and international organizations, was also emphasized, so as to enable the building of a multilateral cooperation system capable of supporting cultural dialogue and expanding the scope of high-quality initiatives with sustainable impact.

The two parties renewed their commitment to moving forward towards strengthening an advanced strategic partnership, translated into practical programmes and joint projects that contribute to enhancing cultural exchange and consolidating the ties of African-Arab cooperation at the regional and international levels. The two parties agreed to organize joint activities in the fields of Arabic and Islamic manuscripts.
