With deep sorrow and grief, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) mourns the former President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, the freedom fighter Liamine Zeroual, who passed away today, Sunday 29 March 2026.
On this grave loss, His Excellency Professor Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, extends his warmest condolences and most sincere expressions of sympathy to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, its president, government and people, praying to God Almighty to envelop the deceased in His vast mercy, to admit him to His spacious gardens, and to make his final abode paradise in the company of the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs and the righteous, and how excellent a companion are they.
Verily, to God we belong, and to Him we shall return.
