As part of the official visit undertaken by His Excellency Professor Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), and his accompanying delegation, His Excellency took part today, Friday 13 February 2026, in the official celebration held on the occasion of the anniversary of the Federal Republic of Somalia's accession to the League of Arab States, which falls on the fourteenth of February each year. The celebration was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Education and Culture, His Excellency the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, along with a number of senior officials and members of the diplomatic corps.

This celebration comes as an affirmation of the depth of the historical and cultural ties that bind Somalia to its Arab surroundings, and as an embodiment of its active commitment to the causes of joint Arab action and its keenness to strengthen coordination and cooperation mechanisms in various fields.

During the event, emphasis was placed on the importance of making the most of this occasion to strengthen the partnership with ALECSO in the fields of education, culture and foreign relations, in a way that contributes to supporting the paths of sustainable development and consolidating the unifying Arab identity.

The participation of His Excellency the Director-General and the accompanying delegation also reflected ALECSO's keenness to keep pace with national occasions of an Arab dimension, and to activate frameworks of institutional cooperation with the relevant bodies, in a way that serves common goals and enhances integration among member states.
