His Excellency Mr. Omar Saud Al-Omar, Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Affairs and Acting Minister of Information and Culture, received His Excellency Professor Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), within the framework of His Excellency's participation in the closing of the "Kuwait Capital of Arab Culture" celebration. The meeting came to strengthen the paths of institutional cooperation between the State of Kuwait and the Organization.

During the meeting, His Excellency the Minister received the ALECSO shield in appreciation of his role in supporting joint Arab cultural action, and in pride at the pioneering efforts undertaken by the State of Kuwait in developing the cultural and media system, and consolidating its standing as a center for Arab cultural activity. The meeting addressed support for initiatives directed at youth and intellectuals.

Emphasis was also placed on the importance of enhancing coordination between ALECSO and the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, chaired by His Excellency the Minister, in a manner that ensures the integration of programs and the implementation of quality projects consistent with the priorities of joint Arab cultural action, and responsive to the accelerating transformations in the fields of technology and culture.

For his part, His Excellency the Director-General of ALECSO expressed his appreciation for the support the Organization enjoys from the State of Kuwait, affirming ALECSO's commitment to continue working side by side with Kuwaiti cultural institutions, and to expand the scope of the strategic partnership in a manner that serves the goals of cultural development in the Arab world.

The meeting concluded by affirming the continuation of consultation and coordination during the coming period, and working to crystallize joint executive programs that enhance integration among culture, communication and technology within the framework of an integrated future Arab vision.
