The Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) has granted Her Highness Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the Sharjah Arts Foundation, the title of Ambassador Extraordinary for Arab Culture for the years 2025-2026, in appreciation of her prominent role in supporting contemporary arts and promoting cultural dialogue between communities at the Arab and international levels. His Excellency Professor Dr. Mohamed Ould Omar, Director-General of the organization, handed over the certificate and shield of appointment to Her Highness during a special ceremony on the occasion held this morning in the Africa Hall in Sharjah, in the presence of a number of heads of government departments and institutions and cultural figures. In his speech on this occasion, His Excellency the Director General expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Her Highness Sheikha Hoor in serving Arab culture and contemporary creativity, noting that her choice of this title embodies the distinguished position that the United Arab Emirates occupies in the regional and international cultural scene. His Excellency said: “ALECSO launched the Arab Culture Ambassadors initiative to honor prominent figures in the fields of culture, thought and arts, and to enhance the presence of Arab culture in the world. The selection of Her Highness Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan Al Qasimi as Extraordinary Ambassador for Arab Culture is a confirmation of her pioneering role in supporting creativity and cultural dialogue, and her contribution to consolidating common human values ​​and serving issues of culture and sustainable development.” He added: “We hope to continue working closely with Her Highness to establish programs and activities that make culture a lever for sustainable development in our Arab world, and a tool for consolidating the values ​​of coexistence and human understanding.” For her part, Her Highness Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan Al Qasimi expressed her thanks to the organization for this honor, stressing that culture was and remains the core of the civilizational project of the Emirate of Sharjah, led by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and said: “Since we took our first step in the Emirate of Sharjah, culture was the path and the destination, and the bet on building the human being with his cultural identity was the foundation from which we started.” Our vision in cultural work.” Her Highness added: “I stand among you, with great gratitude in my heart for this honor bestowed upon me by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization, hoping that God will help me perform this task in an optimal manner, and to contribute to deepening the role of Arab culture in development, education, and promoting the values ​​of beauty, creativity, and tolerance.”
