His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, opened this morning, Saturday, November 8, 2025, the new Sharjah Art Foundation building, “Photograph Gallery,” in the Al Manakh area. His Excellency Professor Dr. Mohamed Ould Omar, Director General of the organization, accompanied by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, toured the corridors of the building, looking at the two exhibitions opened there, namely: “Photographic Narratives Along the Coasts of the Gulf,” which is permanently displayed in the building, and includes 165 photographs and archival documents from the collections of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi. And the exhibition “Keepers of Images: Photographic Works from the Sharjah Art Foundation’s Collection,” which includes the works of 34 artists, explores photography as a tool for memory and imagination. The restored gallery constitutes a prominent addition to the cultural scene in Sharjah, with its entire space allocated to research studies and artistic practices related to photography.
