Coinciding with the eleventh session of the celebrations of the Arab Day of Poetry and Symbols of Arab Culture and the 30th session of the International Publishing and Book Fair, which takes place in Rabat, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) honored the Moroccan poet Mohamed Bennis on Friday, April 18, 2025, in a ceremony supervised by His Excellency the Director General of the organization, Professor Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, and the Moroccan poet was crowned in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication and in the presence of their Excellencies. And happiness and elite intellectuals and poets from various Arab countries. ALECSO chose the poet Bennis, along with other Arab poetic and cultural icons, as part of the organization’s endeavor to constantly remind of the human values ​​of poetry and its role in consolidating the virtues of love, brotherhood and coexistence. It is noteworthy that the Arab countries celebrate the Arab Poetry Day on March 21 of each year, which was approved in 2015. It is a renewed annual occasion in which the Arab countries participate with the International Cultural Group in celebrating on the same day the World Poetry Day.
