Professor Magdi Abdul-Maarouf Hussein Ahmed is a university professor and researcher specialising in Arabic literature and criticism, with an academic and professional career spanning more than three decades in the field of higher education. He obtained his PhD in Arabic literature and criticism from Omdurman Islamic University in 2002, after earning his Master's degree in Arabic literature in 1997 and his Bachelor's degree in Arabic language and literature in 1995. He rose through the academic ranks at the University of Sennar from teaching assistant and lecturer to assistant professor, then associate professor, up to the rank of full professor, which he has held since 2013. He also undertook an international academic experience through his work at King Khalid University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, alongside teaching experience at Sudan University of Science and Technology. Since 2026, he has been directing the Khartoum International Institute for the Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers, reflecting his experience in academic leadership and university administration. He has contributions in teaching Arabic literature and criticism, supervising research and university theses, and participating in curriculum development and the review of academic work, in addition to his interest in enhancing the quality of academic performance and developing educational institutions.
