Center Supervisor

Engineer Mohammad Samer Qawwas is the Supervisor of the Arab Center for Arabization, Translation, Authorship and Publication, affiliated with the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO) in Damascus. He carries out administrative and technical responsibilities in following up the Center's work and programmes in the field of Arabizing the sciences and knowledge. His work is linked to the Center's efforts to support the Arabization of higher and university education in the Arab world, to keep track of global scientific and knowledge developments and work to render them into Arabic, as well as to support the movement of translation, authorship and publication in the fields falling within the Center's remit. His name is also associated with overseeing the Center's work and publications, among them the journal «Al-Ta'rib» (Arabization), a peer-reviewed scholarly periodical the Center has issued since 1991, addressing the issues of Arabizing higher education, translation and the development of Arabic scientific content. Published sources indicate that the journal is one of the Center's instruments for introducing research on Arabization and translation and for following the knowledge production related to its fields of work.
