The ALECSO Observatory has recently issued its 16th Statistical Bulletin (December 2024)  titled : “AI Readiness of Arab Countries”.

Relying on available data and indicators, the Bulletin addresses the current infrastructure in Arab countries, especially in relation to internet connectivity. It also analyzes the results of the 2024 AI Index Report, which relies on a set of indicators, particularly those linked to technical advancements in AI, public perceptions of the technology, and the geopolitical dynamics surrounding its development. The Report introduces new estimates on AI training costs, and detailed analyses of the responsible AI landscape, with a chapter dedicated to AI’s impact on science and other fields.

Based on the results of analyses, the Bulletin assesses the AI readiness of Arab countries, with emphasis on the efforts invested in this regard as well as the main challenges and future prospects.

This Bulletin serves as a reference for understanding the progress of Arab countries in integrating AI into their national strategies and ensuring sustainable and comprehensive utilization of this technology.
