The Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) Department of Education, in cooperation with the Jordanian National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, is organizing, during the period from 22 to 24 September 2026 in the Jordanian capital, Amman, a training course entitled: “Artificial Intelligence Gateway: Advanced Employment of Generative and Agentic Artificial Intelligence in Education, Research and Innovation,” with the participation of representatives of public and private Jordanian universities, the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, the Supreme Council for Science and Technology, and the Center. In his speech during the opening of the session, the representative of the Arab League Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Professor Osama Al-Habash, conveyed the greetings of His Excellency Professor Dr. Mohamed Ould Omar, Director General of ALECSO to the participants, and his wishes for the success of the work of this session. The representative of the organization explained that this meeting goes beyond discussing a passing technical wave, to address a qualitative transformation witnessed by artificial intelligence with the accelerating transition from generative systems to agent systems (Agentic AI), and the accompanying transformations in the nature of the relationship between humans and machines, especially in the fields of education, research and innovation. He stressed that this development requires a conscious vision that ensures that the human mind remains at the center of the educational, research and innovation process, and the establishment of clear cognitive, ethical and governance frameworks for the use of proxy systems, in a way that preserves the human role in guidance and decision-making, and promotes the responsible and safe use of these technologies. He pointed out that keeping pace with this new generation of artificial intelligence does not conflict with the necessity of regulating its use, but rather requires enhancing Arab understanding of new technical transformations, and linking them directly to the needs of educational and research institutions, and to the educational reality in Arab countries. For his part, His Excellency the Secretary of the Jordanian National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, Dr. Sultan Al-Khalif, praised the level of cooperation and extended partnership between the Arab League for Education, Culture and Science and the Jordanian National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, stressing that the organization of this session comes in response to the rapid transformations taking place in the digital field, and the opportunities and challenges that artificial intelligence technologies pose to education, research and innovation systems.
