H.E.  Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, received, on February 14, 2026, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting took place as part of strengthening institutional cooperation between Somalia and ALECSO and supporting joint Arab action in the fields of education, culture, and science.

The Prime Minister welcomed the Director-General, commending ALECSO’s leading role in advancing educational and cultural systems across Arab countries. He affirmed the Somali government’s commitment to expanding its strategic partnership with ALECSO in a manner that serves national development priorities and strengthens Somalia’s presence in the Arab cultural and knowledge sphere.

For his part, the Director-General expressed his pride in the strong relations between ALECSO and Somalia. He reaffirmed the Organization’s commitment to continuing technical support, capacity-building, and the implementation of qualitative programs and initiatives aimed at advancing the cultural and educational sectors in line with the Somali government’s plans and development vision.
