The ALECSO Observatory issued the sixth statistical bulletin in May 2022 under the title: “The status of museums in the Arab countries compared to the rest of the world.” The bulletin included data on the number of museums in the Arab countries and in the world and a ranking of the Arab countries according to the index of the number of museums per million inhabitants. It has become clear through these reliable data that the percentage of museums in the Arab countries out of the total number of museums in the world is 0.7% and that the average number of museums per million inhabitants in the Arab countries does not exceed 1.3 museums, while the global average is 13.8.
