Book of Proceedings of the Ninth (9) Conference of Ministers Responsible for Arab Higher Education and Scientific Research

The conference’s directions addressed basic topics related to the knowledge society, the most important of which was the call on Arab countries to establish integrated information infrastructure in universities and scientific research centers, and to adopt projects to spread information culture and digital knowledge. The recommendations also called on Arab countries to create and activate information bases and observatories capable of following up on the development of the knowledge society, as well as developing smart work tools and software for teaching the Arabic language and teaching it to be a tool of digital knowledge. The recommendations emphasized the necessity of establishing mechanisms for Arab knowledge integration and exchange and supporting these mechanisms by establishing scientific structures specialized in the field of knowledge generation and dissemination. The recommendations also called for building national innovation systems that contribute to providing the necessary framework for achieving a knowledge society and modernizing educational curricula, leading to building a culture of knowledge and acquiring creative and critical thinking skills, starting from the early stages of education.
