Book of Proceedings of the Twelfth (12) Conference of Ministers Responsible for Arab Higher Education and Scientific Research

The conference's recommendations and directions included many topics, especially the most important of which was calling on Arab countries to support the partnership between universities and the economic environment, working to involve civil society sectors in financing scientific research activities and utilizing its results, completing the establishment of independent national bodies to ensure quality and academic accreditation in higher education, and preparing programs for joint cooperation between universities and Arab scientific research centers, while working to raise the percentage of the gross domestic product allocated to scientific research. The recommendations called for ALECSO to prepare an Arab guide, which facilitates the reading of academic certificates and academic records issued by Arab higher education institutions to facilitate student mobility, and to develop a mechanism for coordination between national bodies to ensure quality and academic accreditation in Arab countries and to help exchange experiences and harmonize standards, and to prepare a database on resident and immigrant Arab minds and propose a plan to benefit from it.
