In continuation of the efforts of the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) aimed at enriching Arab digital libraries with the latest scientific and technological publications, and enhancing the role of information and communication technology in the modernization, development and advancement of our Arab societies, and in furtherance of its tireless efforts to address the phenomenon of interruption of study resulting from the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus in most Arab countries, through its e-learning initiative to confront the interruption of education and ensure its continuity in the Arab countries, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization is pleased to present to readers and those interested Al-Arab, the Arabic version of the book issued in August 2020 by the Smart Learning Institute at Beijing Normal University (SLIBNU), in cooperation with several partner organizations, including ALECSO, under the title “Guide on Providing Open and Distance Learning for Students with Disabilities During School Closures: Improving Integration in Learning in Light of the COVID-19 Pandemic.” This guide comes within the framework of ALECSO’s efforts to confront the Covid-19 pandemic, which has left many serious repercussions at the social, economic and educational levels in most countries of the world, and the Arab countries were not immune to those repercussions and threats left by the pandemic. This document is a reference guide for teachers, parents, policy makers, educators, and designers of educational programs and content in the field of open learning and distance e-learning, with the aim of facilitating the understanding of students with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic, and assisting them by reviewing various advanced and innovative methods for preparing and designing open learning resources and distance education in particular. The contents of the guide have demonstrated the methods used in designing accessible electronic educational materials based on Universal Design. The book is in Arabic. The book is in English
