ALECSO

Kuwait is an Arab country located in the northeast of the Arabian Peninsula in the Middle East, southwest of the Asian continent, and in the northwestern corner of the Arabian Gulf. It is bordered to the east, north and west by the Republic of Iraq, and to the south by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its area is 17,818 square kilometers, and its population according to the latest census is 4.67 million inhabitants. The name Kuwait is a diminutive of the word "Kut", meaning the fortress or castle, which was built near the coast in the seventeenth century AD. It has been a member of ALECSO since 1970 (founding member).

Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) is the mother of specialized Arab organizations and the oldest. It was established on July 25, 1970, following the approval of the Arab Cultural Unity Charter in Baghdad in April 1964.
